The PUCK - Power, WIFI and GPS in a box

The PUCK is a smart, wifi- and GPS enabled Powerpack for your Medusa detector system. The box comprises a data acquisition board with integrated Wifi Access point and GPS system powered by an embedded 12V battery-pack. The system is used to power your Medusa Detector and provide you with submeter-quality GPS positioning and wireless access to your system. 

Depending on your application the PUCK can be extended by connecting a PTH-200 (pressure, temperature, humidity box) or other auxiliary devices. 


The embedded power-pack provides continuous 12V, 1A power to both the box itself and to the connected detector. It allows at least 8 hrs of operation without recharge. If you need more, an additional external battery can be connected to charge the system and continue working.


The box has an embedded GPS system that tracks GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo and SBAS satellites at 5Hz.. It is provided with an external antenna for improved reception. The GPS data is processed on-board, and will be logged by your Medusa detector as an integral part of yoru detector data. 


The PUCK-100 has an embedded wifi access point that runs a DHCP server handing out IP addresses to the connected clients. It provides connectivity to your Medusa Detector and to your handheld device (phone or tablet PC). This way you can operate and monitor your detector unit wirelessly over distances of several tens of meters (depending on environmental conditions).

Data acquisition

The PUCK can be extended to capture data from auxiliary sensors like the Medusa PTH-200 box, or simple voltage-output sensors. Such extensions are available on request and will be tailor made for you.
